Melvin rushed up for air and began coughing loudly, he was confused as to what was going on.

“My God! She almost killed you!” His mother screamed rushing up to him on the bed.

Kentura lay there on the bed beside Melvin, she was awake but didn’t know what had happened.

“Mom…water…I need water…” Melvin spluttered.

“You devil! What are you doing here? Get out of my house now!” Melvin’s mother fired at Kentura.

Kentura sat there looking so confused, she had no idea how she’d gotten to Melvin’s room in the first place. Melvin’s mother rushed up to the fridge in her son’s room and brought out a bottle of water. She hurried up to her son and literally fed him the water from the bottle.

“My darling! Are you okay? My God…she almost killed you…I saw her try to choke you to death. If I didn’t come in on time, she’d have killed you…” His mother cried bitterly.

Melvin’s father appeared at the doorway.

“What is going on here? Melvin…Honey…what is going on?” He asked his son and wife.

Melvin’s mother pointed an accusing finger at Kentura.

“This witch was about to kill him! She was choking him so hard with the pillow but God is so merciful and I came in and she got frightened and stopped. Please, darling, she has to go. I don’t want her here anymore.” Melvin’s mother cried.

“Calm down honey…” Her husband said to her as he approached the bed.

Kentura got off the bed and stared at Melvin, she couldn’t comprehend what was going on and she found it hard to believe Melvin’s mother’s words. She suddenly burst into tears.

“Why do you hate me so much? What have I done to deserve being treated badly?” Kentura cried.

Melvin’s mother stood up in pure rage, she looked at the woman who had almost ended the life of her only child and raged.

“Don’t you dare shed any crocodile tears! You are a killer, a witch and a murderer! You have no place in my son’s life or in this house! Get out of this place now and never ever come back!”

“Hey…calm down darling, I need to understand what really happened here. How did Kentura get into Melvin’s room?” Melvin’s father asked.

“Ask her! As the daughter of Jezebel! She stormed into this house like a wildfire and is determined to burn this place to the ground.” Melvin’s mother screamed.

“Kentura, how did you…get in here?” Melvin asked slowly.

“I…can’t say…I just woke up and I found myself here…maybe I sleepwalked or something…I can’t really say.” Kentura said.

“Liar! Liar! You lie! You are a witch!” Melvin’s mother countered.

“Honey, will you stop these tantrums?” Her husband chided.

“Tantrums?” Melvin’s mother asked her husband in disbelief. “It’s almost like she’s bewitched you two.”

“You should know better than all of this.” Her husband said. “Aren’t you spiritually gifted with the gift of sight? What do you see when you look at Kentura?”

“What…what do you that question?” His wife stammered.

“I am sure you’ve seen something and you’re hiding the things you’ve seen from us and that’s why you’re so agitated.” Her husband said.

“Don’t be ridiculous!” She spat.

“I know you, dear, I’ve known you for a very long time and I know that you know something that we don’t, that’s why I want you to tell us what you know.” Her husband said.

Melvin’s mother opened her mouth and she stared at her husband in disbelief.

“This woman tried to kill our son! I can’t believe that instead of interrogating her, you’re asking me crazy questions.” Melvin’s mother said.

Kentura was weeping uncontrollably.

“Please go to your room Kentura.” Melvin’s father said.

“No! She won’t go to any room because she is not a member of this family!” Melvin’s mother screamed.

“Well, she is.” Melvin’s father said.

“What are you talking about? When did you start standing against my words? You always support me.” His wife said.

“Yes, I always support you when you act reasonably but with Kentura, you’re letting your emotions rule over common sense. It’s either you tell me what you see in Kentura that you detest so much or I’ll give her a permanent place in this house.” Her husband warned.

“You won’t do that.” She shouted.

“Did you see how fragile she looked? There’s something wrong with that girl and I believe that God sent her to us for a purpose. We can’t send her away just like that.” Melvin’s father said.

“Yes…I agree with dad. I haven’t been able to understand Kentura and all that’s going on with her and I know that we can help her.” Melvin said. “That’s why I brought her here in the first place, mom.”

“I can’t believe the two of you!” Melvin’s mother screamed and stormed out of the room with tears in her eyes.

As she left, a vision played before her eyes, it was the very angry face of Alicia and as always, Melvin’s mother knew that there were two personalities and not one.

Bianca opened her eyes and the chant stopped.  She looked at her mother and at the prophetess.

“Did you do it? Were you able to seduce him?” Her mother asked.

Bianca looked dazed.

“Is she alright, Prophetess?” Bianca’s mother asked.

“Yes, she is…” The prophetess said.

“What is wrong with you, Bianca? Talk to me!” Her mother shouted at her.

“I saw her…” Bianca said in a whisper.

“Who did you see?”

“The woman that’s trying to take Melvin away from me.” She said.

“That’s not what we want to hear, we want to know if you were able to seduce him.” Her mother asked.

“She was there before I got in.” Bianca said staring at her mother with tears in her eyes.

“What do you mean that she was there before you got there?” The prophetess asked.

“She was there…and she was trying to kill him.” Bianca said and burst into tears.

The prophetess and Bianca’s mother stared at each other in disbelief.
